Project background
Beijing (UCCA) Ullens Contemporary Art Center is located in the 798 Art District of Beijing. The solo exhibition "Zeng Fanzhi: Walking" presented by Zeng Fanzhi is the largest and most extensive exhibition of Zeng Fanzhi so far, comprehensively combing the artist's nearly 30 years of creative experience.

Design concept
The exhibition space is designed by Anton Zhongxiong Architectural Research Institute. The main exhibition hall covers an area of about 1400 square meters. The six divided walls together with the outer walls make the exhibition hall independent and open in presentation.

Design details
In this project, the purpose of lighting design is to provide sufficient illumination for the exhibition, emphasize the display of works of art, and provide a comfortable viewing light environment for the audience. Therefore, simple and bright space lighting has become the positioning of the design. The lighting technique is to integrate lamps and buildings to realize the invisibility of lamps and lanterns. Let people pay more attention to the exhibition itself.

In the main exhibition hall, wall washing lamps and lanterns are hidden on the catwalk and beam frame to wash the ceiling evenly. Through the reflection of the white ceiling, the light diffuses into the exhibition space, so that the light in the whole space is soft and uniform, presenting a sense of tranquility.

Two rows of full-length high-power medium beam wall washing lamps are installed above the Packway to illuminate vertically. At the same time, two rows of wide beam LED tubes are matched on both sides, and they are installed at an angle of 40 degrees as a supplement. In other beam frame parts, lamps and lanterns may be installed obliquely or vertically according to different spacing. The track spotlight is installed at the bottom of some beam frames to focus on the display of the facade. Such a homogeneous light environment makes the audience feel relaxed in the space and naturally walk and linger in the tortuous and extended exhibition hall, thus echoing the theme of the exhibition "walking".

Different from the main exhibition hall, the corridor adopts the lighting method of luminous film. By installing LED soft light strips at specific intervals behind the transparent film, the white film is evenly illuminated, so that the exhibition space is immersed in simple and quiet light. At the junction of the luminous film, similarly, the guide rail shall be hidden and the track spotlight shall be installed. In the selection of color temperature, the neutral cold 4000K color temperature is selected, because the cold color temperature is easier to show the purity of the space.
